Who's Covered in Ontario

65+ years old with health card
18+ years old who have a supressed immune system with provincial drug coverage
18+ years old who are unvaccinated against COVID with provincial drug coverage
Refugee, under-asylum or protected Individual (See qualifying conditions below)
Certain health conditions for those with provincial drug coverage (See qualifying conditions below)
Indigenous (See qualifying conditions below)

Treatment may also be fully or partially covered under private insurance, but this depends on the individual’s plan. If you do not fall under any coverage options you can still receive treatment at the approximate cost of $1400.

Qualifying Conditions for Coverage

If you have provincial drug coverage in Ontario, such as the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) program, and are between 18–64 years old, you may still qualify for COVID-19 treatment coverage if you meet at least one of the conditions below.

  • Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Disabilities
  • Neurological Conditions
  • HIV infection
  • Obesity
  • Pregnancy
  • Smoking
  • Organ or blood stem cell transplant
  • Chronic disease (brain, lung, liver, kidney, heart)
  • Mental health disorders
